House system plays a vital role in the conduct of cultural and co-curricular activities in the school. Every student is allotted a house as soon as he/she is admitted to the school. The school has four houses under the charge of separate house masters/mistresses.
To develop a sense of team spirit and sportsmanship and promote talent, inter-house events are held throughout the year. Prizes and certificates are awarded for excellence at the end of the year.
Each house is headed by a Captain, a Vice Captain and two Prefects. Besides this, the school also has a Head Boy, Head Girl and Sports Captain.
The school organizes and executes various house competitions, besides outside competitions. All the norms for participating are informed well in advance and the winning students contribute points to their houses.
The house with maximum points is declared the House of the Year and is given the Trophy of the Year during the Annual Sports Meet / Annual Day.
MITS selects its members of Office Bearers. The board consists of Head Boy, Head Girl, Prefects, Assistant Prefects, Cultural Co-Ordinator, Sports Co-Ordinator and Discipline Co-Ordinators.
This helps in structuring a Student Council system which inculcates qualities of leadership while building team spirit.
They are our future citizens and for their holistic development they require to develop organizational skills to organize events and functions with a sense of tolerance and co-ordination while enhancing their intellect.
